New Law Building

Designs for a new building for the Law School were first drawn up in the 1950s, but it was only in 2002 that staff and students of the Faculty of Law finally moved to new, purpose-built accommodation.

The building was opened by the Chief Justice of Australia, the Honourable Murray Gleeson, on 2 May 2002.

As Michael Crommelin has commented, 'The building has revealed its essential character through the stunning views in every direction, reminding us that the world lies outside, not within, and that our future depends on what we contribute to that world.'

Further information about the Law Building is available on the Law School web site.
