Miss Law was the faculty’s representative in the annual Miss University pageant. The pageant began in 1947 to find not only the 'Belle', but also the 'Bobby-Sox-Idol of the University' and was a fundraiser for the Food for Britain appeal. After a successful first year, from 1948 the competition became known as the Miss University Quest and was held to raise money for the World Student Relief Fund. Two Miss Laws were crowned Miss University: Pat Leach in 1949 and Elizabeth Winckle in 1963.
